Methods : Brainstorming
Students were asked the question, "If you were the savior of planet Earth and it was on the brink of destruction due to overuse of its resources, what action would you take?" They were instructed to use the brainstorming technique to jot down their thoughts, ideas, solutions, or any emotions they had regarding this question. To accomplish this, students were given 30 minutes. The result of this study showed that students had 12 different perspective on the subject under investigation, which were consistently reiterated in the writings. This chart illustrates the level of attention of girls and boys to these 12 topics and also indicates the importance of each of them for female and male students separately.
Objective
For the purpose of building and developing the culture of energy saving, extensive studies regarding sustainability, culture and children as end-users were conducted. Then a field study was carried out to identify the degree of adolescents' comprehension in terms of living environment questions, understanding their mentalities and the degree of their involvement in this area.

Research
This project focuses on the role of design in cultivating a culture of conservation among adolescents, with a specific emphasis on sustainability. I conducted a study involving 150 male and female students to gain insights into their perspectives on environmental conservation and their ideas for contributing to a more sustainable planet. Based on their opinions and suggestions, I designed a product that encourages them to adopt a culture of conservation and mindful planet stewardship.This study is concern with the culture of conserving and sustainability. Many of the issues such as air pollution, water scarcity, and epidemic diseases that threaten human’s life today have root in the environmental damage. Therefore, paying attention to the environment and its related problems are very important. Not only preventing the waste of natural resources by the current generation is necessary, but also preserving the nature and its resources for next generations is our duty.
Emphasize & Define
For the purpose of building and developing the culture of energy saving, extensive studies regarding sustainability, culture and children as end-users were conducted. Then a field study was carried out to identify the degree of adolescents' comprehension in terms of living environment questions, understanding their mentalities and the degree of their involvement in this area. This study was performed on 150 boys and girls between 11 to 14 years old. For this aim the Brain writing creative technique was used. The relevant feed backs were analyzed statistically by using Excel software. The results demonstrated mentality of the students regarding energy saving and preserving earth resources, which could be used as a pattern for designers to obtain better understanding about the users.

Based on this idea, a device was designed to be attached to a bag or a mobile phone. This device includes a small collapsible cup that fits inside a cover along with a strap. Using a bag or a mobile phone for attaching the product is because they are always with the user and readily accessible when needed.
Test
After using the product, users mentioned factors such as its compactness, lightweight design, and easy portability. They were also drawn to the beauty and graphics of the product, finding its unique shape appealing compared to existing products. They were very enthusiastic about attaching the product to their bag or mobile phone. Additionally, they placed their cups together, creating an Earth graphic design and took pleasure in doing so while feeling a sense of camaraderie.
Ideates of design
After categorizing the students' ideas based on their importance, practicality, and the needs of the target group, a number of these ideas were selected, and solutions for creating products were proposed based on them. These ideas are as follows
Finally, a solution for saving on single-use cups and water bottles was selected for the top idea.
Prototype
Among the presented ideas, the last idea, "the device for saving on single-use cups and water bottles," was given special attention due to its significance, and necessary modifications were made to turn it into the final design. Since drinking water is one of the most essential needs, and the use of single-use cups or bottles results in the generation of a substantial amount of harmful waste, this matter holds great importance. After selecting the design, the design details and initial models were created.
A graphic design was created for the cups in which, by placing several of them side by side, a complete image of the Earth with the beloved children of it is formed. Additionally, a software application called "My World" was designed to engage more students, invoking a sense of collective unity among users. Based on field research, the majority of students had expressed interest in "addressing the issue of befriending the Earth and suggesting behavioral solutions."
Using this software, users can share their everyday actions taken to help the Earth with each other. The software includes various sections, including "My Contribution to the Earth." In this section, the user registers their use of this product and finds out where they rank in terms of usage. This statistic also reflects the level of conservation in the consumption of disposable cups and plastic straws.
Additionally, they placed their cups together, creating an Earth graphic design and took pleasure in doing so while feeling a sense of camaraderie.
Student Ideas
Furthermore, after reviewing a total of 150 collected writings, those that contained innovative ideas and designs for a new product aimed at helping planet Earth were selected. These are presented in the following figures, categorized by gender, making them visible for both girls and boys
